Advisory Board
Dear Marin Catholic Parents and Community,
Welcome to the Marin Catholic Parent Advisory Board (PAB). As the new school year begins we welcome the incoming class of 2015 and send a warm welcome to our existing MC community. One might ask what the mission of Parent Advisory Board is and what is the purpose? For those of you not familiar with PAB the following is the mission statement:
“The Marin Catholic High School Parent Advisory Board’s mission is to act in an advisory capacity to school administration with respect to the administration’s immediate and near-term goals and objectives. The Board will make recommendations to support, foster and promote a college preparatory Catholic education to benefit the entire school community while upholding the school’s core values of faith, knowledge and service.”
Given this mission, at the beginning of each school year the officers of the Parent Advisory Board meet with Chris Valdez and Tim Navone to establish PAB initiatives for the coming year. For 2011-2012 we are going to focus on the following: Faith/Service, Health and Wellness and the College Application Process. This year, we will continue with Catch the Spirit, a program started in 2011 and designed to get parents, students, and alumni to attend and support MC arts and athletic events.
The parents who volunteer their time to sit on the Parent Advisory Board bring with them years of varied experience, knowledge and a strong commitment to help support Marin Catholic programs. The following parents were nominated and elected to sit on this year’s board:
Jeanmarie Alo Wayne Baker Mari Ballas-Ward Mary Bonfilio Theresa Campbell Maureen Carlin Dorothy Cooney Joe Cresalia |
Suzanne Friend Mara Galliani Hillary Guelfi John Loftus Rob McFadden Karen MacLean Dave Shaver Paul Tewhill |
